Melania Trump believes women should decide what to do with their bodies.
Former US First Lady Melania Trump has taken a strong stand in support of abortion rights as opposed to most members of the Republican Party, the platform her husband Donald Trump is seeking reelection as the President of the United States for a second term.
In a video posted on X to promote the release of her upcoming memoir, Melania Trump backed the “individual freedoms” of women to do what they want with their bodies.
“Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard,” Melania said in the video posted on X on Thursday.
“Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth: individual freedom. What does’my body, my choice’ really mean?”
The self-titled memoir scheduled to be released next Tuesday is one of the former first lady’s few public expressions of her political views.

According to excerpts obtained by Lions Crib, Melania Trump argued that the decision to terminate a pregnancy should be left to the woman and her doctor, “free from any intervention of pressure from the government.”
Donald Trump has maintained his stand on states deciding if women can abort babies or not, except in life-threatening situations where it is necessary.
When quizzed by Fox News about his wife’s views about abortion, Trump said he had discussed it with her and advised her to “write what you believe.”
“We spoke about it, and I said, ‘You have to write what you believe. I’m not going to tell what you to do. You have to write what you believe,” Trump disclosed.
“She is very beloved. People love our former first lady. I can tell you that. But I said, ‘You have to stick with your heart.’
“I’ve said that to everybody; you have to go with your heart. There are some people very, very far right on the issue, meaning without exceptions, and then there are other people that view it a little bit differently than that.”
Abortion right is a strong topic in the US election, as women constitute over 50% of the American population.
