Governor Bago urged corps members to key into his agricultural policies in the state.
Niger State governor Mohammed Bago surprised corps members in his state on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, with the promise of a ₦200,000 bonus for each of them in the Batch B stream.
Governor Bago was at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B Stream I corps members in the state’s NYSC orientation camp in Paiko, where he made the promise and also revealed plans to approve a 5-billion naira project for the construction of a new orientation camp in the state.
“All corps members serving in Niger State today are entitled to a ₦200,000 bonus from Niger Farms,” the governor said to a cheering corps members crowd.
“So, each of you has ₦200,000; I understand you’re about 1,600. So we are going to credit your account with ₦200,000.
“This is to give you comfort to stay in Niger State. We want to build a brand new NYSC camp. So, Niger State is putting N5 billion to build a new NYSC camp for you.”
Governor Bago has shown a strong commitment toward boosting agriculture in the state as the country battles food insecurity.
