Toke Makinwa has come under criticism for advising women about spots to locate wealthy men this December.
Toke Makinwa has been subject to controversies in the internet space, but the high-profile media personality has never shied away from airing her opinions about topics in the ever-buzzing entertainment industry.
Recently, she trended online for being part of Nigeria’s delegation to the COP28 in Dubai as critics questioned her relevance for the climate summit.
Some critics went as far as alleging that she was on the trip based on “escort services” for high-profile Nigerian politicians who have constantly come under heavy criticism for bad leadership in Nigeria.

Toke is on the lips of critics again for dishing out advice to women on places to hook up with wealthy men during her show, Toke Moments.
“How to hook a high-profile man. They will be telling you things like ‘dress the part’, ‘Go to the gym’ which they are quite right but the first thing I am going to tell you ladies is you have to have budget for enjoyment first because you see these high profile men, they don’t go to the slums or all these places,’’ Toke started.
“Some of them don’t even like to go out. They like to go to house parties. So you have to know people who know people. Bizzle, if you know him. Bizzle is a connect. He knows how to connect people.
“Go to a lot of house parties this Christmas. Forget the clubs, it’s too hurt, too noisy and the club is now confusing, everybody is acting like a big boy, you don’t know the ones that are truly big boys. You see ten guys on a table, you don’t know who is paying the bills. They are all wearing Balenciaga and all kinds of designer tops.
“Go to house parties. That’s where it is going down. In places like Banana Island, Glover, Ikoyi South West, You can manage VI, maybe Lekki I. Everything after Lekki 1, don’t bother’,” she concluded.
While some people have criticized her, others have hailed her for being sincere enough. A user, @ajuba101, while commenting on Toke’s advice on Instagram, said, “Automatically, you’re asking them to chase after people’s husbands. I like that, so you should stop talking about cheating men because you encourage it.” Another user, @ego-oyiiboo, said, “At least she no stingy with update.’’
Toke is a divorcee and has used her platform to talk against men who engage in extramarital affairs. Her advice to women can be weighed on two grounds: they can go after men regardless of marital status or go after single rich men, but traditionally in Africa, men should go on the lookout for women.
