The federal government is set to enlist an additional 400,000 youths for Batch C of the N-Power program in Nigeria.
The Federal Government’s decision to enlist 400,000 youths for Batch C N-power was in Kano by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq who mentioned that the N-Power program aims equipping young people with life-long skills.
The Minister, who was represented by the Deputy Director of Finance and Account in the ministry, Muhammad Sambo, spoke at the closing ceremony to over 3,000 youths from the North-West zone trained in software and hardware skills under the Batch C1 of the N-Knowledge component of the N-Power Program.
According to the Minister, “It is no longer news that the President has approved the decision that N-Power be expanded to accommodate one million beneficiaries. We have carefully implemented this where the Batch C1 accommodates 510,000 beneficiaries and the Batch C2 will commence soon. This is to enlist more Nigerian youths into the program”.
“It is a well-known fact that N-Power program is a critical part of the National Social Investment Programs domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHADMSD) and designed to achieve the national objectives of poverty reduction and job creation,” she added.
N-Power has 3 core segments: N-Power Volunteer Corps (Graduate program), N-Power Build (Non-graduate program) and N-Power Knowledge (Which is a non-graduate program and which embodies the N-Tech Hardware, N-Tech Software and the N-Creative training programs (Animation and Scriptwriting).
The training for Batch C aims to develop youths to become competent in software development, Hardware training and the creative industry.
Details on how to register for the program is yet to be released.
