The young celebrity, Blue Ivy has secured another award in the bag after winning the “Best Voiceover” award for narrating audiobook.
The young star had won a Grammy award earlier for Best music video in March 2021 and just last Saturday, she also became the Best voiceover artist at the just concluded 2021 Voice Arts Awards. She got the award for narrating Matthew A. Cherry’s audiobook ‘Hair Love’.
Hair love is a children’s book about an African American dad taking care of his young daughter’s hair. The book is intended to encourage young men and women of color to love their hair.
The news of Blue Ivy’s award was shared by her grandmother, Tina Lawson who took to her Instagram page to celebrate her granddaughter thus:
“Congrats my Blue you killed that! It is only the beginning! You are so talented! Grandma is beyond proud!!!”.
Blue Ivy got her first award in 2009 and also has a number of other awards in her collection including The Ashford and Simpson songwriter’s award at the Soul Train Music Awards. She got that award for Co-writing ‘Brown Skin girl’ with her superstar mother, Beyonce. Blue Ivy also featured in her mother’s ‘Brown Skin girl’ and in the music video too.
In 2020, Blue Ivy won the BET HER award at the 2020 BET awards as well as outstanding Duo, Group or collaboration at the NAACP Awards and video of the year -all for ‘Brown Skin girl.’
The Audiobook ‘Hair Love’ won an Oscar Award for Best animated short film.
