Nelle Diala said the twerking video was made in an empty plane and was not intended to harm the company.
Nelle Diala, a flight attendant with Alaska Airlines, has been reportedly fired after posting a twerking video on TikTok while at work.
Diala had been working for over six months before being sacked.
She has set up a GoFundMe page to seek financial support.
The video captioned “ghetto bih till I D-I-E, don’t let the uniform fool you” seems to have violated Alaska Airlines’ social media regulations.
Following her sack, Diala reposted the video with a caption lamenting that she “can’t even be yourself anymore, without the world being so sensitive.”
“What’s wrong with a little twerk before work, people act like they never did that before,” she quizzed.

Her new post was accompanied by a hashtag, #discriminationisreal, as she detailed in her GoFundMe page that the video was “lighthearted” and was posted during a layover in an empty aircraft.
“It was a harmless clip that was recorded at 6 am while waiting 2 hours for pilots,” she said.
Diala also stated that she made the video to celebrate the “end of probation” and lamented that “instead of love and support” for the video going viral, she was dismissed from her “dream job.”
“Although it was a poor decision on my behalf, I didn’t think it would cost me my dream job,” Diala cried.
She further said that she was “wrongfully fired” and noted that her “employer accused me of violating their social media policy,” despite explanations that “the video wasn’t intended to harm anyone or the company.”
Alaska Airlines is yet to make a public comment on the issue as flight routines continue.
