Israel has vowed to carry out further attacks against Hamas and Hezbollah in Gaza and Lebanon.
One year after Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel, thousands of people have held commemoration to remember family members, friends, and fellow citizens who were killed during the attack.
Marches, candlelight vigils, and memorials were the order of celebrations in major cities around the globe, from Tel Aviv in Israel to Paris, London, and Berlin.
“We want to remember the people who have been brutally murdered, and we want the world to remember,” the organizing committee chair, Henry Grunwald, told AFP.
At least 1,205 people, mostly civilians, were killed by Hamas during the deadly attack on October 7, 2023.
In retaliation, Israel has conducted endless air strikes in Gaza that have cost over 41,870 lives, mostly civilians.
While Israel has been condemned for the high number of civilian casualties, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists that Israel has maintained international standards in its war against Hamas.

One year after Hamas’ attack, the war has escalated into a major crisis in the Middle East, and there are fears that it will further escalate into the globe for a third world war.
Lebanon was drawn into the conflict after Iranian-backed Hezbollah attacked Israel, and in retaliation, Israel has launched massive air and ground attacks in Lebanon, which have claimed at least 2,000 Lebanese lives, according to the health ministry of Lebanon.
Iran joined the conflict after attacking Israel directly with the use of ballistic missiles, which the iron dome could not totally intercept.
Israel has vowed to retaliate, a move that is expected to further escalate the conflict and end the possibility of a ceasefire in the Middle East.
President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and most Western leaders have shown strong support for Israel but have warned against further chaos in the Middle East.
Except there is any significant change in Israel’s war policy, the Israeli defense force is expected to directly hit Iran soon.
The implication for the globe would be the loss of more civilian lives and economic and political instability.
It remains what action will be taken by world leaders to promote the possibility of a ceasefire and stabilize the Middle East, where millions of people have been displaced.
