Russian authorities say that they hit a military parade.
Not less than 51 people have been killed and over 200 injured after a Russian missile hit the Ukrainian city of Poltava on Tuesday, Ukrainian authorities say.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine said the Institute of Communications, a military institute in Poltava, and a hospital had been hit by two Russian missiles.
Russian reports say that the missiles hit a military parade at the institute, but Ukrainian authorities denied the report.
“There was no parade or any other event at the time of the airstrike,” the Ukrainian defense ministry said.
Despite the denial, the Ukrainian military said soldiers were part of the casualties recorded.
The Ukrainian military reported overnight Iskander missile launches from the occupied Crimea, which is 430 km away, within the range of the missile.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently vowed to intensify attacks against Russia and said Ukraine is “not ready to use our territories as one of the options for a peace proposal. We do not exchange people or territories for proposals, our values and our freedom, our democracy—we are not ready to sacrifice these.”
“As long as Ukraine stands, fights, and condemns violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity while the whole world is with us, the risks of other crises in the world are reduced.”
President Vladimir Putin has maintained his stance on not ending the war until the US stops supplying Ukraine with weapons and Ukraine accepts Russian peace terms.
