Sanwo-Olu praised the corps members for their exploits while in camp.
The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has towed the path of his Niger State counterpart, Umar Bago, by announcing a ₦100,000 cash gift to corps members leaving the permanent orientation camp and ₦100,000,000 cash gift to NYSC staff.
Recall that Governor Bago gifted corps members of Batch B a cash gift of ₦200,000 each, approved ₦5 billion for the construction of a new orientation camp, and encouraged corps members to venture into agriculture in the state.

Sanwo-Olu, who is in his second term as governor of Nigeria’s commercial capital, announced his cash gift to corps members on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, while speaking at the NYSC 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members Passing-Out Parade/Closing Ceremony held at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja.
He also announced the approval of ₦5 billion for the construction of a new National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp permanent site in the state.
“This year alone I will be putting available a total of 5 billion naira that will be used to start the full development of the permanent site for NYSC,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“For this batch we have 4254, and with all sense of responsibility and because you have been very hardworking, each and every one of you will go home with a N100,000; the money will be made available into your accounts by next week, and your directors will credit your account.”
