Biden’s son, Hunter, might appeal the verdict.
President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has been found guilty of gun crimes by an American jury after a long week of trial.
The jury, comprised of 12 people, found the president’s son guilty of lying about his drug use in 2018 while purchasing a gun.
Hunter Biden faces the possibility of going to jail after the verdict, which is the first criminal prosecution for the child of a sitting American president.
The three felony counts conviction comes at a tough time for his father, President Joe Biden, who is seeking reelection into office against strong rival Donald Trump.

President Biden has vowed to respect the decision of the jury despite having the power to grant him pardon.
Though President Biden could not attend the trial in Delaware, First Lady Jill Biden and other family members were regulars in court to show support for 54-year-old Hunter Biden.
After the verdict, President Biden flew to Delaware and was captured hugging his son on the tarmac.
“I am the president, but I am also a dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today,” President Biden said.
Biden said that he would “accept the outcome of this case and… continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal.”
Recall that President Biden has ruled out the possibility of pardoning his son despite having the power to do so.
However, he might be forced to consider that option if the appeal yields no positive outcome for the first family.
