Cohen has been a strong critic of Trump since their relationship went sour in 2017.
Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is set to testify against him on Monday in the ongoing trial over an alleged 2016 hush money payment to pornographic star Stormy Daniels.
Cohen’s testimony will serve as one of the determinants of the possible conviction of the former President of the United States.
A $130,000 payment made by Cohen to Daniels before the 2016 presidential election, which brought Trump to power, is the focus of the trial, which began on April 15.
Trump is accused of making the payment through Cohen to stop her from going public with a 2006 sexual affair she claims to have had with the Republican Party’s presidential candidate.
Cohen worked as an executive and lawyer for Trump at his New York real estate company for close to ten years and once said he would take a bullet for Trump, who is campaigning to defeat President Joe Biden in the November 5 presidential election.

The relationship between Trump and his former lawyer went sour after prosecutors in his 2016 presidential campaign probe turned in on Cohen.
Since then, Cohen has become a strong critic of Trump and frequently called him out on social media and podcasts.
Justice Juan Merchan told prosecutors in the hush money trial on Friday to tell Cohen to cease making public statements about the trial after defense lawyer Todd Blanche said the former Trump fixer spoke on social media while putting on a T-shirt displaying Trump behind bars.
Trump is facing a 34-count charge, which he has denied. He also denied having had an affair with Stormy Daniels.
