Tiwa Savage opened up about her passion for acting and not wanting to let go of music.
Tiwa Savage has been in the global entertainment industry for 26 years and has made her mark as one of the greatest singers in the history of the globe, but her first passion was acting.
The “Kele Kele Love” singer is set to make her first lead role debut in Nollywood with “Water And Garri,” which is set to be released on May 10, 2024.
Her dreams of acting came true with roles in Nollywood series such as “Shuga,” but her first lead role in “Water And Garri” is set to stamp her foothold in the film industry as she joins the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, and a few other singers around the globe who have earned credits on the music and movie fronts.

In an interview with ABC, Tiwa recalled her passion for acting in her early stages and how co-producing with Meji Alabi for “Water And Garri” saw her “boss hat on.”
“I’ve always wanted to do acting. I’ve always wanted to do movies. Actually, that was my first love before music,” the multi-award-winning singer said.
“So it felt like a full circle moment for me. I just felt it was time for me to finally get into that. I never wanted to let go of music, so it’s a great way for me to still embody that.”
Water and Garri tells the story of a US-based Nigerian fashion designer who returns to the country on a journey of self-discovery after a successful career in the United States.
