Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the killing of the British nationals alongside four other aid workers was “unintentional.”
Three British citizens were part of a group of seven aid workers killed in Gaza by an Israeli strike.
The aid workers were working for World Central Kitchen (WCK), a food aid charity organization helping to regulate the impact of the war between Israel and Hamas.
Before the attack that cost their lives, the aid workers had unloaded over 100 tons of humanitarian food aid in Deir al-Balah and were on their way leaving when Israeli forces struck.
The head of the WCK described the attack as “unforgivable” as world leaders condemned the strike.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and other senior western officials condemned the attack and have demanded an explanation from Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attack was “unintentional” and noted that it “happens in war… and we will do everything so that this thing does not happen again.”
Netanyahu also revealed that his office has sent Hamas a new proposal for a truce and the release of hostages.
Apart from the three British nationals killed in the attack, an Australian citizen, a US-Canadian dual citizen, a Polish aid worker, and Palestinian workers also lost their lives.
Aid organizations such as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) are concerned that such attacks are capable of hindering critical aid supplies to areas hit by the war.
