Putin is not in a haste to use nuclear weapons at his disposal but will do so if need be.
Vladimir Putin has warned the West that Russia is ready for a nuclear war in case the globe settles for a nuclear conflict.
The Russian leader told Rossiya-1 television and news agency RIA on Wednesday, March 13, that from “a military-technical point of view, we are, of course, ready” when quizzed about the possibility of a nuclear war.
Putin is set to be re-elected for another six years in power in an election set to take place from March 15–17, 2024.
He further disclosed that if the US sent troops to Ukraine, it would be considered an act of war.

Putin believes that there is no rush for the use of nuclear weapons, insisting that there is no need for a nuclear war against Ukraine.
“(In the U.S.) there are enough specialists in the field of Russian-American relations and in the field of strategic restraint,” the Russian leader said.
“Therefore, I don’t think that here everything is rushing to it (a nuclear confrontation), but we are ready for this.”
Putin further reiterated the conditions that can lead to Russia exploring its arsenal for nuclear weapons by disclosing that it can only be used when Russia is attacked by a nuclear weapon or any other weapon of mass destruction and “when the very existence of the state is put under threat.”
He further stated that weapons “exist in order to use them,” but noted that “we have our own principles.”
“Russia is ready for negotiations on Ukraine, but they should be based on reality and not on cravings after the use of psychotropic drugs,” Putin emphasized.
He further revealed that he does not “trust anyone, but we need guarantees, and guarantees must be spelled out; they must be such that we would be satisfied.”
