Lions Crib honours these outstanding individuals.
Personality Of The Year: Victor Osimhen
Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is the Lions Crib Personality of the Year 2023. Osimhen wins the award for helping Italian club SSC Napoli win the Serie A for the first time in 33 years.
The former Lille OSC of France striker broke a lot of records, such as becoming the highest-scoring African in the history of the Italian league and the first African to finish as the top scorer in the Serie A and still win the league. He also finished as the top scorer in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Osimhen, 25, was voted the 8th best Player in the World during the FIFA Ballon d’Or and made history by becoming the first Nigerian to win the CAF African Player of the Year in 24 years. He also won the MVP Award for the Italian Serie A in 2023.

Athlete Of The Year: Asisat Oshoala
The Super Falcons of Nigeria and FC Barcelona Femini star Asisat Oshoala is the Lions Crib Athlete of the Year 2024. Oshoala won the UEFA Women’s Champions League title with Barcelona for the second time and finished as the joint top scorer in the Spanish Women’s League.
Oshoala was also instrumental in Barcelona’s treble-winning campaign and inspired Nigeria to a second-round finish in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
She would go on to extend her record by winning the CAF African Women’s Player of the Year in 2023 for the sixth time.
Fashion Award: Naomi Campbell
Supermodel Naomi Campbell wins the Lions Crib Fashion Award for 2023. At the age of 53, Campbell has maintained her stunning looks and is still walking runways. Naomi Campbell started professionally at the age of 8 and has been active in the fashion industry for 45 years.
Actor Of The Year: Wale Ojo
Legendary actor Wale Ojo wins the Lions Crib Actor of the Year award for 2023 for his lead role in the hit film “Breath of Life.” Wale Ojo’s mastery on the screen was on full display as he took on the character of Timi, a clergyman who lost his family and resolved to live a solitary life.
