Being with your partner is a beautiful thing. But, after a certain period, you may notice some red flags in your relationship which if not addressed imminently, may pose problems later on.
Here are 5 relationship red flags you should look out for in your relationship.
Lies
A partner who constantly lies to you, or is dishonest is a red flag. People tell lies sometimes, but when your partner constantly deceives you, then something needs to be done about it. The small lies could be where they are going to, what’s happening in their lives, etc. The big lies could be their debts, how much they are earning etc. When there are frequent lies, there will be no trust in the relationship.
Failure To Compromise
In relationships, compromise is a necessity. Compromising in a relationship should not be one-sided because it is capable of causing regrets. Your partner should be willing to submit when necessary.
Constant Criticism
Your partner should be the one to build you up, not put you down subtly or expressly because it is emotional abuse to you, and it affects your self-esteem. They make you feel bad, or not worthy of them, they criticize everything you do.
Avoiding Important Discussions
A partner who avoids difficult discussions, problems, or issues causes harm to the relationship. It makes you lack trust in them. The examples include not waiting to hear you out, ignoring you for several days instead of communicating.
Excessive Jealousy
A partner who wants to control you, monitor your movements, jealous and insecure, is not good for you. At first, it will be subtle, they will make it look like they just care about you. With time, it becomes pronounced.
