Discovering that your partner cheated on you can make you feel angry, unworthy of being loved, or not even enough. Some people even become physically sick because of the discovery. After the initial shock passes, the next question that usually comes to mind is: why did he or she cheat?
Revenge Or Anger
Most people cheat because their partner cheated first and they want to retaliate. Also, a partner may cheat because of the frustration they feel in their relationship. They may talk about certain issues to their partner and feel like they are not being heard. They retaliate by cheating.
The Love Is Missing
The initial feeling of love or attraction that partners have may fade away and it is up to them to keep the fire burning. Some partners may not even want to fall in love with their partner again when it wears off, so, they resort to cheating with other people instead of working on their relationship. Also, there is a possibility that your partner has fallen in love with another person and this makes them cheat on you because they find it hard to walk away.
Opportunity To Cheat
People sometimes embrace the opportunity or the situation that presents itself to cheat. It could be that there is a distance in your relationship, and there is another person there for you. Or you feel lonely and do not receive attention, there is someone else willing to give you the attention you crave. It may make you succumb to cheating on your partner.
Commitment Issues
A partner who acts like they are not committed to the relationship or are just whiling away time with their partner may make their partner cheat because feeling undervalued is not an option. No one wants to feel that way.
