Nigerian Man Faints On Church Altar After Girlfriend Rejected His Marriage Proposal

A man identified as ‘Bro John,’ was shocked in church after his girlfriend ‘Sister Favour,’ with whom he wore a matching outfit, rejected his marriage proposal in the presence of the church’s congregation.

Bro John had earlier informed the pastor of the church of his intention to propose to his girlfriend, Sister Favour, at the church altar during service. While the duo was called out to the altar, Bro John knelt down, and brought out his proposal ring. In a shocking reaction, Sister Favour did not accept the proposal before running out of the church premises.

According to reports, Bro John had suggested to his girlfriend that they should wear matching outfit to church. He was of high hope that things will work to plan, but when things went south, he fainted before he was later revived by church members.

Nigerians have been reacting to the incident on the Twitter microblogging app.

@chigozi stated, “The girl should have at least respected him, at least for whatever they have shared and take it….when they leave there, she can tell him she can’t, she just respected him outside so he doesn’t feel bad Anyway the guy mess up… why not propose indoor”.

@Alubarika wrote “How do you propose to a girl publicly without having 1000% person assurance that she will say yes naaa?”, while @radio_active tweeted, “Crazy, like Y’al bought the material together,, shared it 3yards each. Went to the tailors, decided to wear it to church. Yet una no wan marry, it’s MENT”. @LabiI said, “no even propose anything to my wife, I just say, babe jokes apart, I wan marry you. She said, are you sure, like really? I said yes. I collect list, marry. That’s all!. No stress!”.
