What Is Your Why?
You must know your ‘why’ because it will give you an emotional connection needed to achieve your goals. Your why is the reason for setting your goal and why you want to achieve it. Assuming you want to lose weight this year and the reason is that you want to be more fit and healthy, you have a strong why and making time to exercise daily will come a little bit easy for you.
What Do You Want To Achieve?
You must know what you want to achieve before setting them down. Where do you see yourself? What do you want to do or be? Answering these questions will make it a bit easier to know the kind of goals you want to set.
Will They Be Long-Term Or Short-Term?
It is pertinent that you know how you want to group or divide your goals. Do you want to achieve it in a few months or less than 5 years, or do you want to achieve it in the next 5 to 10 years? Knowing this will guide you while setting those goals down.
Your Goals Will Be Adjusted
As the year goes by, you will discover that most goals you had written down for the year have to be removed or shifted because of circumstances beyond your control, or it is not just important anymore. So, try to review your goals and adjust some of them when there is a need for it.
