Koffi was cleared of rape charges levelled against him.
Renowned Congolese singer Koffi Olomide has been sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 by the Versailles Court in France.
The Standard reports that the veteran musician was sentenced to prison for forcefully holding four women who were his former dancers captive.
Koffi was also found guilty in 2019 for sexual assault and kidnapping of his dancing crew in 2002 and 2006 at his residence
The 65 year old was instructed to pay Sh1.2 million which is equivalent to $10,000 each to the three victims.
Koffi was vindicated of the rape charge issued against him as the court found the evidence presented as conflicting.
In 2016, he was reportedly ousted from Kenya after he was seen on camera attacking a young lady.
