Afro-pop singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known by his stage name, Wizkid, on the early hours of Friday, October 30, 2020, blessed his fans with an album, “Made in Lagos” after much delay and postponement. With everything going on in the world, and in Nigeria especially, people have been left in a state of unrest, and less happiness. Music has played a big role, as therapy, in maintaining people’s sanity and keeping them happy. Nigerian artistes have always ensured that we have good music at all time. With Starboy’s announcement of the album release on Friday, his fans were really overjoyed because it’s been three years since they were last afforded the privilege of an album, by him. They have been left with vibes from his singles and features, in between.
The album “Made in Lagos”, is equipped with 14 records in all, which featured phenomenon artistes like, Burna Boy, Skepta, Tems, Tay Iwar, Tems, Ella Mai, H.E.R, Damian Marley and Projexx. The tracks include: Reckless, Ginger, Longtime, Mighty Wine, Blessed, Smile, Piece of me, No Stress, True Love, Sweet One, Essence, Roma, Grate and Grace. While his last album, “Sounds from the other side” which was a huge success after “Ayo” and “Superstar” put him in the spotlight at the global stage, his new album “Made in Lagos” showcases more of local sounds, that are in-line with traditional Afrobeat.
So, this weekend, while you have a chill time or party with friends, you don’t want to miss out on any of Wizkid’s 14 tracks. Enjoy
